Neither snow nor rain nor heat nor gloom of night stays these students from some healthy competition. Students and advisors played a rainy game of ultimate frisbee at this year's Fall Celebration. We love that our students are willing to brave the elements to make these memories.
Bump, Set, Spike! ...or something like that. Students and staff participated in a volleyball game at Fall Celebration. True to EOC style, modifications were made to the game. Firstly, the ball was a large tennis ball. Secondly, it was decided that the ball could bounce in between touches by players. Made for a fun game for all skill levels!
As part of her senior project, Ahna led breakout session "Take a Likin' to Lichen" at Fall Celebration. Participants learned that lichen is an indicator species- one which identifies the conditions of an area. Our camp had lots of lichen- which means the air and enviromental quality is good there. One might see less lichen in urban areas due to pollution. Thank you Ahna!
Although the weather wasn't ideal, the eyes got quite a show at this year's Fall Celebration. We are always blown away by the wonderful, supportive community our students create at our all-school get togethers. Thank you for an incredible event! It ain't easy being cheesy! Gigi's advisory led today's all school meeting- and did they ever deliver... the cheesiest puns. Experience days were announced, club topics and times were discussed, and bad jokes were shared by all. Thanks to Gigi's advisory!
Several advisories got together at the Renaissance Festival on Friday to experience ye old times. Some students even dressed in traditional garb!
Students spent a couple of days at Nobel Conference this week! The student discussions lasted into dinner conversation and the topics of lectures will be shared in seminar. This open field trip had representatives from 6 different advisories from all over Minnesota. #nobel55
Yesterday we had our first All School Meeting of the year. Students learned about upcoming seminars, clubs, and school events. We look forward to advisories running these monthly meetings this year- a great opportunity to bring your ideas and creative side to the table!
EOC student Anna Grace, along with other young adults, received an award from Amnesty International. For their work in promoting legislative changes and awareness, they received the Ambassador of Conscience Award in Washington DC. Students follow their passions here at EOC!
